Sleeping disorder is one of the problems of today’s generation. Sleep is the time of rest for brain cells. Our body needs rest to overcome tiredness. Likewise, our brain also needs rest. Sleeping disorder is bad for the health and the body. Moreover, the body does not feel active and alert if there is sleeping disorder. A person spends about 1/3 of his life sleeping. The sleeping disorder whether the longer sleep or the short sleep causes mental stress.
Some people cannot sleep well. Some people feel sleepy even if they have been sleeping for a long. In medical term, longer sleep is called narcolepsy and the condition one does not feel sleepy is called insomnia. Changing life style and busy schedule have caused sleeping disorder. There are two types of sleep: light sleep and deep sleep.
The condition when one cannot sleep well and wakes up frequently is light sleep. Several dreams, speaking in dreams, having deep sleep for a short period etc. are the various feature of flight dream. However, deep sleep is the healthy ad sound sleep. People with this type of dream do not wake up frequently.

Cause of sleeping disorder
- The uncertain time of sleeping can be the reason for disorder in sleeping. The urge of sleep and wake up is result of the hormonal fluctuations in the body. A person with fixed schedule of sleep and wake up have hormonal balance and feels easy to sleep.
- Snoring is also a reason for sleeping disorder. The person snoring during sleep have low amount of oxygen and high amount of carbon dioxide in the blood. Due to this habit, the person unconsciously wakes up several times.
- The problems such as obesity, thyroid and depression also cause sleeping disorder.
- Sleeping disorder is also found in patients of diabetes and prostrate related diseases who wake up frequently for urination during night.
- If there is problem in internal organs of the body such as liver, kidneys, lungs, etc. then also people have disorder in sleep.
- Hormone can also be the cause of sleeping disorder.
The person around the age of 20 requires 8 hours of sleep daily, but the need of sleeping hours decreases with the increasing age.
Solutions to sleeping disorder:
- Feel comfortable while sleeping and making the fixed schedule of sleeping and waking up.
- Sleeping after2 hours of rest after dinner.
- The habit of drinking water before sleeping should be controlled.
- The people with snoring habit should sleep on side.
- Sleeping at the daytime should be discouraged.
- Eating balanced diet.
- Doing exercise regularly.
